Farmington Utah is the Davis County seat and was settled by Mormon pioneers around 1847. In its early history, Indians and fur traders also frequented the area. The city was incorporated in 1892 and currently has a population of approximately 16,548. 13% of the population rents and there are about 5,590 households, averaging about three to a home. There is even a local pond that is regularly stocked with fish. The nearby mountains and canyons offer all sorts of recreational activities from hiking to camping to snowmobiling. Locals also stay active by attending community classes learning things like ceramics, ballroom dancing, theater, and more. Every year in the summertime, the city celebrates Festival Days with parades, tournaments, entertainment, helicopter rides, fireworks, and more.
